Is the Bible a book of love?

Sex in the Holy Bible

I count him lost, who is lost to shame”

Woman is the crown of creation. A sufficient measure of civilization is the influence of good women. If anything is sacred or needs to, the human body is sacred. Modesty is the conscience of the body. Man is the only animal that blushes.

Give honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel

7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7 (New King James Version)

Woman is respectable. But The Holy Bible has insulted her modesty and greatness by showing her as a sexslave and exposing her body.

Whose emission was like that of horses!

Two Adulterous Sisters

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother. 3 They became prostitutes in Egypt, engaging in prostitution from their youth. In that land their breasts were fondled and their virgin bosoms caressed. 4 The older was named Oholah, and her sister was Oholibah. They were mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.

5 "Oholah engaged in prostitution while she was still mine; and she lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians-warriors 6 clothed in blue, governors and commanders, all of them handsome young men, and mounted horsemen. 7 She gave herself as a prostitute to all the elite of the Assyrians and defiled herself with all the idols of everyone she lusted after. 8 She did not give up the prostitution she began in Egypt, when during her youth men slept with her, caressed her virgin bosom and poured out their lust upon her.

9 "Therefore I handed her over to her lovers, the Assyrians, for whom she lusted. 10 They stripped her naked, took away her sons and daughters and killed her with the sword. She became a byword among women, and punishment was inflicted on her.

11 "Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet in her lust and prostitution she was more depraved than her sister. 12 She too lusted after the Assyrians—governors and commanders, warriors in full dress, mounted horsemen, all handsome young men. 13 I saw that she too defiled herself; both of them went the same way.

14 "But she carried her prostitution still further. She saw men portrayed on a wall, figures of Chaldeans portrayed in red, 15 with belts around their waists and flowing turbans on their heads; all of them looked like Babylonian chariot officers, natives of Chaldea. 16 As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea. 17 Then the Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and in their lust they defiled her. After she had been defiled by them, she turned away from them in disgust. 18 When she carried on her prostitution openly and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister. 19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. 21 So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled. Ezekiel 23:1-21 (New International Version).

Is it really the word of God?

Can a chaste and moral woman read it loudly to her family?

The sexual details, the lewdness and the filth will put her to shame.

Can a decent person read this story to his mother, sister or daughter?

Let us love! My husband is not at home

We find a large quantity of the sex literature in the Holy Bible . The Bible tells a story about a womam, wily of heart, who persuades a young man with much seductive speech. She compels him with her smooth talk to follow her. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter.

13 She took hold of him and kissed him
and with a brazen face she said:

18 Come, let's drink deep of love till morning;
 let's enjoy ourselves with love!

 19 My husband is not at home;
he has gone on a long journey

Proverbs 7:13, 18, 19 (New International Version).

Here is the proof of my daughter's virginity!

13 If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her

14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, "I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,"

15 then the girl's father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate.

16 The girl's father will say to the elders, "I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her.

17 Now he has slandered her and said, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the proof of my daughter's virginity." Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town,

18 and the elders shall take the man and punish him.

(The Holy Bible, New International Version, Deuteronomy 22:13-18)

What is this piece of cloth the parents of the girl are displaying before the elders of the town?

Is it really the word of God?

Wise men learn more from fools than fools from the wise

These laws however are not GOD Almighty's Laws, even though they are considered as such. These are old Jewish Laws.

 Bastard, bastard and bastard

The word”Bastard” is very common in the Holy Bible.

8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Hebrews 12:8 (King James Version)

2A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD. Deuteronomy 23:2 (King James Version)

When Jesus comes again, he will come like a thief in the night so that those who do not have their clothes [on] will go naked and be shamefully exposed

They see his shame

Lord will strip you, and they will see all your nakedness

They will strip you and leave you naked and bare

35 " 'Therefore, you prostitute, hear the word of the LORD! 36 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you poured out your wealth [a] and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols, and because you gave them your children's blood, 37 therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see all your nakedness. 38 I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring upon you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger. 39 Then I will hand you over to your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. They will strip you of your clothes and take your fine jewelry and leave you naked and bare. Ezekiel 16:35-39 (New International Version)

They will leave you naked and bare

29 They will deal hatefully with you, take away all you have worked for, and leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your harlotry. Ezekiel 23:29 (New King James Version)

Is it the word of God?

Go naked for three years!

The Lord himself apparently commands his servant to go naked for three year.

2 at that time the LORD spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz. He said to him, "Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet." And he did so, going around stripped and barefoot.

3 Then the LORD said, "Just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush, [a] 4 so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles, young and old, with buttocks bared—to Egypt's shame. Isaiah 20:2-4 (New International Version)

You looked on their nakedness

8 Behind your doors and your doorposts
you have put your pagan symbols.
Forsaking me, you uncovered your bed,
       you climbed into it and opened it wide;
you made a pact with those whose beds you love,
you looked on their nakedness.

Isaiah 57:8 (New International Version)

You were naked and bare

7 I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. [a] Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.

22 In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood

Seven Jewish exorcists fled out naked

13Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 14Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15(One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" 16Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. Acts 19:13-16, (New International Version)

The curves of your thighs are like jewels

1 How beautiful are your feet in sandals,
      O prince’s daughter!
The curves of your thighs are like jewels,
The work of the hands of a skillful workman.
       2 Your navel is a rounded goblet;
      It lacks no blended beverage.
Your waist is a heap of wheat
      Set about with lilies.

Song of Solomon 7:1-2 (New King James Version)

The word onanism means masturbation . It was derived from the name ONAN , Who had been masturbating .The Christian sexologist have immortalized him by referring to coitus interrupts , as Onanism in their Books of Sex .

8 Then Judah said to Onan, "Lie with your brother's wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother." 9 But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. Genesis 38:8-9 (New International Version)

Is it the word of God?

How badly does this story hurt the sacred relation

between the brother and the sister - in law?

The Holy Bible tells us the above mentioned filthy and dirty story about Onan, who did not give his seed to his sister - in - law Tamar but spilled it on the ground. The Bible does not allow sexual relation between a man and his brother’s wife:

 Punishment for this crime

21 " 'If a man marries his brother's wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless. Leviticus 20:21 (New International Version)

Does God make people fall in adultery?

17 "Therefore this is what the LORD says:
'Your wife will become a prostitute in the city

Is it the word of God?

Take a wife in her virginity

God say:”13And he shall take a wife in her virginity. 14A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife”. Leviticus 21:13-14 (King James Version)

Love an adulteress woman, who is loved by a lover!

1 Then the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a lover[a] and is committing adultery, just like the love of the LORD for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans. Hosea 3:1 (New King James Version)

The Bible and the evil woman!

8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house (Proverbs5:8). 20And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? Proverbs5:20 (King James Version) 24To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 26and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Proverbs 6:24-29 26For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. 27Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. (Proverbs 7:26-27). Is it fair? Jesus says:” 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28 (King James Version)

Jesus and the evil woman!

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 2(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) 5Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. (John 11:1-5) King James Version33”For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. 34The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! 37And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner”. Luke 7:33-39 (King James Version)

She shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms

She shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. Isaiah 23:17 (King James Version)

But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers

1 " But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers
would you now return to me?"
       declares the LORD.

2 "Look up to the barren heights and see.
Is there any place where you have not been ravished?
By the roadside you sat waiting for lovers,
sat like a nomad in the desert.
You have defiled the land
       with your prostitution and wickedness

3 Therefore the showers have been withheld,
and no spring rains have fallen.
Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute;
you refuse to blush with shame

13 Only acknowledge your guilt—
you have rebelled against the LORD your God,
you have scattered your favors to foreign gods
       under every spreading tree,
and have not obeyed me,' "
       declares the LORD.

Jeremiah 3:1-3, 13 (New International Version)

The Sexual discrimination

Everything also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean and on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest. Isn’t open discrimination between man and woman?

Break the vessel of earth!

12And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.16And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.  33And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

Amnon rapes his sister!

Amnon and Tamar

1 After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. 2 Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Amnon to do anything to her. 3 But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. Now Jonadab was a very crafty man. 4 And he said to him, “Why are you, the king’s son, becoming thinner day after day? Will you not tell me?”
Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”
5 So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’” 6 Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”
7 And David sent home to Tamar, saying, “Now go to your brother Amnon’s house, and prepare food for him.” 8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was lying down. Then she took flour and kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes. 9 And she took the pan and placed them out before him, but he refused to eat. Then Amnon said, “Have everyone go out from me.” And they all went out from him. 10 Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom, that I may eat from your hand.” And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them to Amnon her brother in the bedroom. 11 Now when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, lie with me, my sister.”
12 But she answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me, for no such thing should be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing! 13 And I, where could I take my shame? And as for you, you would be like one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.” 14 However, he would not heed her voice; and being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.
15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”
2 Samuel 13:1-15 (New King James Version).

Put this woman out!

17 Then he called his servant who attended him, and said, “Here! Put this woman out, away from me, and bolt the door behind her.” 2 Samuel 13:17 (New King James Version)

Do not take this thing to heart my sister!

20 And Absalom her brother said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother; do not take this thing to heart.” So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom house. 2 Samuel 13:20 (New King James Version)

David doted Amnon!

21-22 King David heard the whole story and was enraged, but he didn't discipline Amnon. David doted on him because he was his firstborn. Absalom quit speaking to Amnon—not a word, whether good or bad—because he hated him for violating his sister Tamar. 2 Samuel 13:21-22 (The Message)

What was the punishment for this crime?

17 ‘If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a wicked thing. And they shall be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness. He shall bear his guilt. Leviticus 20:17 (New King James Version)

2-5 One late afternoon, David got up from taking his nap and was strolling on the roof of the palace. From his vantage point on the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was stunningly beautiful. David sent to ask about her, and was told, "Isn't this Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah the Hittite?" David sent his agents to get her. After she arrived, he went to bed with her. (This occurred during the time of "purification" following her period.) Then she returned home. Before long she realized she was pregnant.
Later she sent word to David: "I'm pregnant." 2 Samuel 11:2-5 (The Message)

What was the punishment for this crime?

10 ‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. Leviticus 20:10 (New King James Version).

Sexual intercourse with her father-in-law

Tamar plays the role of a harlot in order to have sexual intercourse with her father-in-law. She conceives and twins are born.

13 And it was told Tamar, saying, “Look, your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep.” 14 So she took off her widow’s garments, covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place which was on the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given to him as a wife. 15 When Judah saw her, he thought she was a harlot, because she had covered her face. 16 Then he turned to her by the way, and said, “Please let me come in to you”; for he did not know that she was his daughter-in-law.
So she said, “What will you give me, that you may come in to me?”
17 And he said, “I will send a young goat from the flock.”
So she said, “Will you give me a pledge till you send it?”
18 Then he said, “What pledge shall I give you?”
So she said, “Your signet and cord, and your staff that is in your hand.” Then he gave them to her, and went in to her, and she conceived by him. 19 So she arose and went away, and laid aside her veil and put on the garments of her widowhood.

26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I, because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again.
27 Now it came to pass, at the time for giving birth, that behold, twins were in her womb. 28 And so it was, when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.” 29 Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out unexpectedly; and she said, “How did you break through? This breach be upon you!” Therefore his name was called Perez.[
a] 30 Afterward his brother came out who had the scarlet thread on his hand. And his name was called Zerah.

Genesis 38:13-19, 26-30 (New King James Version)

What was the punishment for this crime?

12 If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death. They have committed perversion. Their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:12 (New King James Version).
It is a bitter fact that these punishments were not given to the above mentioned criminals. Why?

No decent reader can read these filthy stories to his mother, sister daughter or any chaste and moral woman. These sexual details will put them to shame.

All prophets were sent by God for the guidance of mankind, but why are the Israelite prophets like Judah, David etc. Are stamped with rape, adultery, incest or prostitution in the Bible? Had God sent the wrong people for guidance?

Decide yourselves:  “is the Bible word of God or word of man?

Which girls were virgins?

17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18. (How did they determine which girls were virgins, and what did they do with them after they kept them alive for themselves?)

32,000 virgins were taken

31And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses. 32And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught 35And thirty and two thousand persons in all, Numbers 31:31-40

How did they find out that these women had not known man by lying with him?

Take "beautiful woman” from the enemy as your wife

(If a man has no delight in her after marriage, then she can go)

She shall shave her head, and pare her nails;

10When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, 11And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; 12Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; 13and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife. 14And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; Deuteronomy 21:10-14

If you love me let me know

If you don’t let me go

With the Lord's approval, the Israelites are allowed to capture”beautiful women" from the enemy camp to be their trial wives. If, after having sexual relations, a man has "no delight" in his wife, he can simply let her go

A sexual contest with "fair young virgins"

King Ahasuerus holds a sexual contest with "fair young virgins" to pick a new Queen (after having been spurned by Queen Vashti).

2 Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king; 3 and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women’s quarters, under the custody of Hegai[a] the king’s eunuch, custodian of the women. And let beauty preparations be given them. 4 Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.”
This thing pleased the king, and he did so.

So it was, when the king’s command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was taken to the king’s palace,
12 Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women. 13 Thus prepared, each young woman went to the king, and she was given whatever she desired to take with her from the women’s quarters to the king’s palace. 14 In the evening she went, and in the morning she returned to the second house of the women 17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Esther 2:2-17 (New King James Version)

Kill every male and every woman who is not a virgin

How did they determine which girls were virgins?

10 So the congregation sent out there twelve thousand of their most valiant men, and commanded them, saying, “Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, including the women and children.

11 And this is the thing that you shall do: You shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman who has known a man intimately.” 12 So they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead four hundred young virgins who had not known a man intimately; and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan. Judges 21:11-12 (New King James Version). (How did they determine which girls were virgins?)

When they come out to perform their dances catch them

19 Then they said, “In fact, there is a yearly feast of the LORD in Shiloh, which is north of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and south of Lebonah.”
20 Therefore they instructed the children of Benjamin, saying, “
Go, lie in wait in the vineyards, 21 and watch; and just when the daughters of Shiloh come out to perform their dances, then come out from the vineyards, and every man catch a wife for himself from the daughters of Shiloh; then go to the land of Benjamin. Judges 21:19-21 (New King James Version)

The wife of Joseph's master asks him: “Lie with me.”

She claims that Joseph tried to rape her

Joseph a Slave in Egypt

1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
7 And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife,
10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.
11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. 13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, 14 that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice. 15 And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside.”
16 So she kept his garment with her until his master came home. 17 Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; 18 so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.

Any that pisseth against the wall

22 So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. 1 Samuel 25:22-23 (King James Version)

David could not get warm with a caring lovely woman!

1 Now King David was old, advanced in years; and they put covers on him, but he could not get warm. 2 Therefore his servants said to him, “Let a young woman, a virgin, be sought for our lord the king, and let her stand before the king, and let her care for him; and let her lie in your bosom, that our lord the king may be warm.” 3 So they sought for a lovely young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 4 The young woman was very lovely; and she cared for the king, and served him; but the king did not know her. 1 Kings 1:1-4 (New King James Version).

David was old, and although covered with clothes, could not get warm. A beautiful, young virgin is brought in to be his concubine and nurse. But alas, he was so old and infirm that he "knew her not."
